Welcome to the Catacombs!Yep, our first full day in Paris me, my friend (also called Hannah) and my boyfriend made our way to the Catacombs. After walking a long way, getting a bit lost and stopping near Notre Dame for lunch we finally found ourselves in the queue to see some dead people.I say some…
The catacombs contain the remains of around 6 million people. That’s a lot of bones! If you want to check out the Catacombs yourself or want to about their history check out the site:

I’ll be posting more..

My art class went up to London last Thursday and we came home Saturday evening. It was great fun but incredibly tiring!
On the Saturday we visited the Tate to see our Family Matters project with Tracey Moberly projected on the gallery’s walls. It was fantastic to see our work in a big exhibition like that! These are some quick pics I took of my work when it was shown on the wall in the Tate:

Ok so I’m almost at the end of my second Human Form project. Can’t believe how fast it goes!
The subject of this project is Human Form Expression. These are some photos I did to express how I felt, what I thought and what I saw when listening to music – 2Cellos -Hurt.
I created these using ink in water. I was fascinated when looking back at my photos at the shapes and images the ink created in the water. What do you see?

Today was my deadline for my Human Form Image project so I will let you in on some more of the work I did for it.
These are photos from a shoot I did of myself. I focused on what is considered the ‘ideal image’ and how we create this and then ‘destroyed’ them to different degrees.
I found it quite fun creating and destroying my own image 😀

Here are my destroyed images of Megan inspired by Rankin’s Destroy project. Another artist who inspired my ideas for a few of these is Maurizio Anzeri – check his work out it is fantastic!

Things are speeding up in College now, I can see i’m going to be incredibly busy, especially as I have just applied to two extra part time courses! Jewellery & Silversmithing and Pattern Cutting.
In Art we have moved on with our Human Form projects and we are now working more specifically on Image. These are a few photos of my friend Megan which I will soon be “destroying” as we are researching Rankin’s Destroy project. I reckon this is going to be pretty fun! 🙂

I have finished my first week of Foundation Art and so far I am really enjoying. I was pleased with the reaction to my Human Form project so here is what I went on to do with my silhouette and shadow photos.

Earlier this summer I did a couple of taster days at Llywn y Bryn where I am starting Foundation Art next month. We were set a project to do during the holidays on the Human Form so here are a few photos from a shoot I did with my sister Ellen as my model creating silhouettes and shadows of the human body.
